Hi 72 Lo 58
I hope everyone had a great Christmas. We started Christmas day with a sausage breakfast casserole and coffee. As a family tradition I got the phone to call Mom, my daughter Jennifer, my brothers, and my Aunt Ada. Everyone had big plans for the day with large meals to enjoy. My family plans events around food. This took most of the morning.
Sherry and I opened gifts and decided it was time to make ourselves presentable for the day. Sherry had asked to see a movie that was to open on Christmas day. Les Miserable was being shown at one of the theaters in Savannah so we headed into town to catch the the noon showing. This is a long feature so popcorn and cokes were also needed. We got seated and watched all the ads that play before the previews. They finished and the screen went white. We thought that the previews should start in a moment. We waited. After ten minutes a young lady went out and reported to management that the movie had stopped. She came back to report that it would start in a couple minutes. We waited. After another twenty minutes the acting manager came in and handed out tickets for a free movie we could use and said that they were having equipment problems and they should be ready in a few more minutes. We waited about ten more minutes and the manager came back and said that the movie would not play and offered to let everyone enter another movie or receive a refund. We took the refund and returned to the trailer. Soon after the rain started. Sherry made calls to her sisters and I read a little.
I started preparing our Christmas dinner about 5. We enjoyed peel and eat shrimp while waiting for dinner. Our meal was Pineapple stuffed Cornish hens, green beans, glazed carrots, and fresh rolls followed by fresh baked pumpkin pie with lots of whipped topping. Man was I full. We got things cleaned up and fell into our chairs for a movie from our library.
We both were able to sleep in later than normal this morning. The rain was still coming down. Today is moving day and I hate driving in the rain. We finished off the breakfast casserole from yesterday and got dressed. The news was reporting the snow storm that was hitting Indianapolis and surrounding area. Indy was receiving two inches an hour and was forecasted to get a foot or more today. We put the Christmas decorations away and prepared the trailer for the move. About 9:30 the rain stopped and we hurried to get hitched up before more rain started. We got on the interstate and only got a little mist. As we moved south, the skies cleared but the wind increased. We pulled into Stagecoach RV Park located just outside St. Augustine, Florida about 1:30. After setting up we drove into town to explore a little and see what we might like to see later. We returned to the trailer and made a pizza for dinner and had a lovely piece of pie. We will be in this area till January 1st.
